Join the staff of the dynamic Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC). We are a nonprofit energy services organization that promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy, including the delivery of Vermont's statewide energy efficiency utility - Efficiency Vermont.

We're looking for energetic, enthusiastic individuals with a commitment to reducing the monetary and environmental cost of energy use to join our great team.  All of our positions require exemplary written and oral communication skills, including superior proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities, and proven ability to be organized, detail oriented and accurate.

Compensation, Benefits & Work Environment

Location

Burlington is a beautiful college town on the shore of Lake Champlain (our offices overlook the lake and the Adirondack Mountains), just 30 minutes from skiing or hiking in the Green Mountains.  As the largest city in Vermont, Burlington also has an unbelievable number of restaurants and cultural events.  Big-city urges are also easily accommodated - Montreal is just a 90-minute drive, and Boston is four hours away by car.

The Technical Manager will coordinate and develop the strategies, activities and staff necessary to ensure the delivery of high quality technical information and services to market teams, staff, and customers.

Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate technical staff to develop and implement work plans to fulfill goals that identify and evaluate opportunities to ensure technical quality, set priorities, identify resources and establish timetables of energy efficiency deliverables to our customer base.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or business, plus a minimum of five years related experience.  The qualified candidate will also have a strong understanding of energy efficiency concepts and technologies for commercial businesses.

Seeking three qualified individuals to assess and develop targeted business market segments in each of the following areas respectively:           

                *COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LIGHTING

               *BUSINESS NEW CONSTRUCTION

               *K-12 SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, AND STATE BLDGS.

Responsibilities: Research and analyze customer values and market barriers to cost-effective energy efficiency in targeted market segments; develop strategies to deliver value and overcome barriers; create and implement educational/outreach efforts; build positive working relationships with all market actors on local, regional and national levels.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in science, engineering, business or equivalent experience specific to targeted market segments; basic understanding of energy-efficiency concepts and technologies; independent judgement; demonstrated strength in strategic planning/managing workload and projects; ability to develop relationships and collaborate with multiple agencies and organizations.

Lead consulting projects for clients across the U.S., Canada and overseas to assess efficiency and/or renewable energy markets and develop, implement and evaluate cutting edge programs and policies to promote them.  Internally, contribute to planning efforts supporting Efficiency Vermont (www.efficiencyvermont.org).

Requirements for Consultant and Senior Consultant:  Demonstrated excellence in strategic thinking, creativity and innovation, project management, inter-personal skills, writing skills, and the ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.   Also requires Bachelor's degree and three (for Consultant) or five (for Senior Consultant) years relevant professional experience, including both managing projects & client relationships, and working within the efficiency or renewable energy field.  Strong quantitative analytical skills preferred. 

 P&E CONSULTANT,  SR. CONSULTANT - BOSTON   - Open Until Filled
 

The Planning and Evaluation division consults with clients across the U.S., Canada and overseas.  Much of the work is focused on helping to develop effective efficiency and renewable energy policies and program designs.  However, such work will often transition to assisting in addressing a myriad of issues that are key to successful program implementation.  That may include assessment of market potential, developing program goals, budget planning, cost-effectiveness screening, developing marketing strategies, and evaluation planning.  Internally, Consultants also contribute to planning efforts supporting Efficiency Vermont (www.efficiencyvermont.org).

 Requirements for Consultant and Senior Consultant:  Demonstrated excellence in strategic thinking, creativity and innovation, project management, inter-personal skills, writing skills, and the ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.   Also requires Bachelor's degree and three (for Consultant) or five (for Senior Consultant) years relevant professional experience, including both managing projects & client relationships, and working within the efficiency or renewable energy field.  Strong quantitative analytical skills preferred.

Independently perform complex research and analysis as well as some development and management of a variety of energy efficiency and renewable energy consultingprojects. 

Requirements:  BA/BS and three or more years of professional experience with complex analytical work assignments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience with energy efficiency and/or renewable energy technologies, markets, programs and/or policies is preferred.  We're also looking for someone who writes well, is proficient with spread sheet software,brings creativity to their work, and has a 'strategic mind' that can simultaneously see both the forest and the trees.
